Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month

This January is the fourth National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month. Snowbird Mountain School is creating an incentive for first-time skiers and snowboarders to return to the slopes with a Learner Permit, a pass that allows beginners to learn to ski or snowboard with six discount lessons and five discount lift tickets.

The Learner Permit is for first-time skiers and snowboarders, ages 13 and older. The first session includes a 2.5-hour lesson, lift ticket and rental equipment, all for $40*on January afternoons, or $90 on January mornings and the rest of the season. The beginner can then return for five additional adult group lessons for $60 each (regularly $100), and five lift tickets for half-price. Learner Permit lessons are subject to availability and valid for the rest of the regular 2011-12 Mountain School season. January afternoons are priced at a discount as part of Snowbird’s participation in national Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.

“Snowbird is unique in that if you learn here, you can ski or snowboard anywhere,” said Maggie Loring, Director of Snowbird Mountain School.

*The Learner Permit is vaild for the remainder of the 2012 season only and is not transferrable. One per guest. Pre-registration 24 hours in advance is required and subject to availability. Please request the Ski Utah program when registering for January afternoon lessons.
