General Training
Here is some general information about training:

  • Training program overview: Training Handbook
  • Check the Training Calendar on the web and in the locker room
  • Sign up at least 24 hours in advance on the sign up sheets on the Training Board
  • Please complete Feedback for Trainer forms (in locker room near pay slips – deposit in daily pay slip drawer).

Certification/Phase Training
ALL training is preparation for AASI/PSIA certification and Snowbird Phase accreditation. There may be specific clinics dealing with exam formats and other topics specific to certification and accreditation, but candidates should plan on attending a broad range of training.

All clinics offer opportunities to improve skiing/riding and also observe and practice teaching concepts. Certification and accreditation are the culmination of aquired knowledge and skill—not simply a reward for a completed checklist of hoops jumped through.

Phase Update Training
Instructors who currently hold an in-house Phase Accreditation and no PSIA/AASSI certification are required to attend an additional 6 hours of in-house training beyond paid training each season. Get with Rodger or your manager to plan your training, which must be competed before the end of the season.
