Kristen Ulmer’s Ski to Live

A Unique Way to Grow

“I have done many ski stories, this was the first that left me feeling enriched, not hedonistically pampered, by the sport.”—Dave Arnold, The Boston Globe

You know it’s a special experience when you have an amazing time with complete strangers. A time that is both uproariously funny, profane, irreverent and also deeply insightful, thought-provoking and life altering in the best sense of the word. I will always be grateful to (Ski To Live) for that.-Scott DeKuyper

Ski To Live is for all intermediate to professional level skiers who want to learn more about who they are as athletes – and as people – in an irreverent and powerful environment. Through morning yoga, on-hill coaching which focuses on the mental and spiritual (not aligned with any one tradition) side of our sports, and evening interactions with the Big Mind technique – Ski To Live will help you find true motivation in skiing and your life, reinforce and create broader perspectives of your self, and lead you on a journey that will change your life forever.

What to Expect

All this talk about mental / spiritual side of skiing and boarding, Zen, transcendent states of being, yoga, blah blah- what the heck are you signing up for anyway?

I’ll do my very best at explaining, and perhaps the best place to start is by telling you what STL is NOT- it’s not a religious program, it’s not new agey, it’s not psychology, in fact USA Today calls Ski To Live the only program of it’s kind in the world, in any sport. But hey, I can write all day on what this program is NOT, the harder task is to write about what STL IS.

STL is different for every person who attends, reflecting the differences in where they are in their lives, and what they’re looking for or need. Some attend because they want to learn how to ski faster, or to catch some air, or to finally rip the bumps — and you can definitely learn that. Some attend because they experience too much fear while skiing and want to take a real look at it; we can address that, too. And most others attend because they know there’s something more brilliant going on with skiing and snowboarding than merely hedonism, and they’d like to find a way to access it — and hoo boy, we can absolutely do that as well.

As humans, we naturally face endless questions curiosity about life, and STL is here to help reveal life and sports in a new, groundbreaking way. You will naturally know why you’re here when the time comes, you’ll learn things you never knew about yourself and life, and you’ll do it while skiing the best snow on earth.

The Schedule In Brief

Our daily objective: to help people find their passion and purpose; balance fears and joys in life; while reveling in the wonders of the mountain and the camaraderie of great people.

Arrive on Thursday night for a welcome reception- this is a very important first gathering to meet the group for the first time and set the tone for the experience you’ll be having this weekend. Light snacks will be provided, cash bar available.

Friday through Sunday: Yoga in the morning for one hour, breakfast, then skiing in like groups for 4 hours with carefully selected ski coaches and Kristen Ulmer where guidance is based more on the mental and spiritual side of skiing, versus purely technical tips. Lunch, then a few hours time on your own to ski more, hang with your new friends, or go to the spa.

After the ski day and a half hour transition led by Kristen, we then spend the evenings in a warm, comfortable environment where our Zen Master will utilize the Big Mind process.

This is a simple, facilitated process that allows practitioners to experience a shift in consciousness from an ego-centered perspective to a universal perspective, discover the True Master within, and learn how to effortlessly tap into innate wisdom and compassion.

On Sunday evening we will share a meal to celebrate our experience together.

Thanks for your interest, and sharing with me a passion for skiing, and life. See you on the mountain.
