Women’s Ski Camps

Coaching in Good Company

“The whole experience was great. I had been so rusty on my skis but was really feeling my form again by the time I left. I love the collaborative environment.”—Anonymous

Mermer Blakeslee, author and former PSIA Demo Team member, will return as our guest coach for Session 2, March 6-10.

Join us for three or four days of skiing in the company of other women, coached by women. Small group sizes allow you to move and learn at your own pace in a supportive peer environment with plenty of one-on-one coaching. Whether you’re an intermediate looking for that big breakthrough or an expert looking for that big rush, Snowbird has what you need. Learn to listen to your body, mind, and spirit as you seek new levels of exhilaration and accomplishment. Space is limited, so enroll early! Intermediates through Experts ages 16 and up.

Basic Itinerary

Each camp will start on the first date with an evening reception.

Day 1 (on mountain)
Meet your coaches on the Plaza Deck for a day of getting acquainted, determining groups, and establishing goals. Following a group lunch in the Rendezvous Cafeteria, groups return to the slopes to get going on hopes and desires.

Day 2 and 3 (on mountain)
Groups ski together for the morning. After lunch, the afternoon is filled with options like taking a snowshoe tour, switching coaches or groups, heading for the spa, running some gates, finding some bumps, or getting an extra video view of your skiing with commentary by a pro. Afternoon presentations on gear, coping with fear, or dressing for success are offered by professional athletes. In the evening, choose from optional activities such as a group dinner or a moonlight swim in the spa pool.
For Session 2 only, Wednesday evening brings the special banquet where groups hear from each other and get to roast their coaches and team-mates. Watch videos containing candid shots and camp fun!

Day 4 for Session 2
The final day is spent with your original group to solidify accomplishments and re-visit special places. The event concludes with an optional get-together for final good-byes and bonding.

Additional Notes:

Participants will enjoy small group size, special gifts from sponsors, and many optional educational events to supplement on-hill coaching.

The Cliff Spa offers a 28,000 square foot facility with 24 individualized treatment areas, work-out facilities featuring cardiovascular Kaiser pneumatic equipment, free weights, a 15 meter roof top swimming pool and hot tub, sun deck, co-ed eucalyptus steam room, movement/yoga studio, and solarium. RESERVATIONS – All our valued guests are encouraged to secure first choice dates by calling or e-mailing in advance. Reservations are subject to product availability and products may sell out at any time. We request that only one family be included on each reservation. For reservation information, please call 801-947-8222, or email us at mountainschool@snowbird.com.

OTHER INFORMATION – Please note that all Mountain School programs are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and except for private instruction, require a minimum of 2 participants. Lift tickets are required in addition to mountain school programs unless otherwise noted.

All activities begin promptly at their designated times. Please allow a minimum of 60 minutes to arrange for equipment rentals and to get to your designated meeting place. Due to the size of the resort and the number of guests enrolled in activities, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals. Refunds will not be issued.

Class lessons are scheduled to be available from NOVEMBER 27, 2010 through April 10, 2011. Private lessons are available by reservation, conditions permitting, from season opening date until April 30, 2011. Mountain School may modify this schedule as needed.

Private lessons and Specialty Camps only will utilize side door Tram access prior to 11:00 a.m.

Snowbird Mountain School cannot extend purchase deadlines, provide refunds, allow students to switch dates between sessions, or provide “make-ups” for missed classes. Due to the unique quality of our resort location, there are times when Little Cottonwood Canyon road and/or lift access is delayed due to avalanche danger. In these cases we monitor the situation closely and send programs out as soon as there is staff available and conditions warrant. Circumstances change with each situation and therefore it is important for guests to communicate with our staff. If lessons are missed due to these extreme circumstances, we will make every effort to accommodate our guests.

Unless otherwise indicated, children’s programs are for 3 – 6 year olds, youth programs are for 7 – 15 year olds, and adult programs are for age 16+.
