Women’s Ski Camps

“The opportunity to ski in such an amazing place while trying new things to get out of my rut is what keeps me coming back!”—Anonymous

Our guest coach will be Carol Levine, past National Alpine Team member for the Professional Ski Instructors of America, and current Rocky Mountain Examiner. Carol was the original organizer of the National Women’s Seminars held through P.S.I.A., and pioneered the integration of women’s issues at the national level of ski instruction for many years. She created and hosted her own women’s program for the Vail Ski and Snowboard Schools called Her Turn as well as developed their successful Focused Learning ski immersion program. Currently a Masters Racer, Carol now works with the Ski and Snowboard Schools of Aspen. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to meet and ski with Carol!

Mermer Blakeslee, author and former PSIA Demo Team member, will return as our guest coach for Session 2, March 4-8. Mermer’s credentials include accolades from the world of gardening, writing, and skiing. She manages to rise to the top of all her vocations, and conveys her passion and love for her chosen topic to all who will listen. Mermer is perhaps best known for her ability to help others converse with and learn from fear rather than run away from it. Mermer highlights topics from her book “A Conversation With Fear,” (formerly “In the Yikes Zone”) in her lectures and teachings in the camp.

Join us for three or four days of skiing in the company of other women, coached by women. Small group sizes allow you to move and learn at your own pace in a supportive peer environment with plenty of one-on-one coaching. Whether you’re an intermediate looking for that big breakthrough or an expert looking for that big rush, Snowbird has what you need. Learn to listen to your body, mind, and spirit as you seek new levels of exhilaration and accomplishment. Space is limited, so enroll early! Intermediates through Experts ages 16 and up.

Basic Itinerary

Each camp will start on the first date with an evening reception.

Day 1 (on mountain)
Meet your coaches on the Plaza Deck for a day of getting acquainted, determining groups, and establishing goals. Following a group lunch in the Rendezvous Cafeteria, groups return to the slopes to get going on hopes and desires.

Day 2 and 3 (on mountain)
Groups ski together for the morning. After lunch, the afternoon is filled with options like taking a snowshoe tour, switching coaches or groups, heading for the spa, running some gates, finding some bumps, or getting an extra video view of your skiing with commentary by a pro. Afternoon presentations on gear, coping with fear, or dressing for success are offered by professional athletes. In the evening, choose from optional activities such as a group dinner or a moonlight swim in the spa pool.
For Session 2 only, Wednesday evening brings the special banquet where groups hear from each other and get to roast their coaches and team-mates. Watch videos containing candid shots and camp fun!

Day 4 for Session 2
The final day is spent with your original group to solidify accomplishments and re-visit special places. The event concludes with an optional get-together for final good-byes and bonding.

Additional Notes:

Participants will enjoy small group size, special gifts from sponsors, and many optional educational events to supplement on-hill coaching.
