Memorial Day, May 26, 2014 - The Human Outreach Project is joining Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort to host a fundraiser for the Sherpa families affected by the disaster in April on Mount Everest in Nepal.
Donations can also be made online at http://www.humanoutreachproject.org/donate-to-the-sherpa-relief-fund. HOP Founder Dean Cardinale, who is also a Snow Safety Supervisor at Snowbird, will be visiting Nepal in May, and has established relationships with the families of the Sherpas.
The event will be hosted at the Snowbird Center on the Plaza Deck and feature an opportunity drawing, silent auction and live music. All donations made to the Human Outreach Project Sherpa Fund will go directly to the families of Sherpas lost to the 2014 Mount Everest Avalanche.
Prizes and auction items include a Julie Mancuso autographed POC helmet, Momentum Climbing Gym certificates, sleeping bags, luggage and clothing from The North Face, Dynastar skis, Smith helmets and goggles, Ramp skis, Leki poles, Petzl headlamps, Mountain Hardwear clothing, Gregory luggage and much, much more!
