Snowbird to reward guests with free Tram rides for Utah Food Bank donations.
Continuing its tradition of providing free rides on its iconic Aerial Tram while helping Utah’s hungry, Snowbird announces the dates for the annual Customer Appreciation Days. On Nov. 3-4 and 10-11, guests will receive a free foot-passenger Tram ride in exchange for donation of either three cans of food, three hygiene items to the Utah Food Bank, or a $6 donation to Wasatch Adaptive Sports.
“Utah Food Bank is incredibly grateful for the long-term support we receive from Snowbird and its customers, and it comes at an important time as we kick off our annual Holiday Food & Fund Drive,” said Ginette Bott, Utah Food Bank President and CEO. “Over the years, this effort has provided the equivalent of close to 66,400 meals for the one in eight Utahns who face hunger, and we look forward to this event every year.”
Last year 13,874 pounds of food was donated to the Utah Food Bank because of the annual event, which provided 11,561 meals to Utah children and families. In addition, $10,426 was raised to support the ground-breaking programs of Wasatch Adaptive Sports.
The Utah Food Bank requests that food should be commercially packaged (boxes, cans) and non-perishable items low in sodium, sugar, and corn syrup. Most needed food items include:
- beef stew
- peanut butter
- boxed meals
- rice and canned meats
- baby diapers
- sanitary wipes
To take advantage of the offer, donations can be dropped off from 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Plaza Deck activities and Tram operation are conditional based on weather. Please check snowbird.com/mountain-report/ for updates.
During the 2018 Snowbird Customer Appreciation Days, The Summit on Hidden Peak will be open 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. After Customer Appreciation Days, the Summit will be closed until Snowbird opens for the ski season, which is anticipated for Nov. 30, 2018.
