Frequently asked questions

The Parking Reservation System

As part of Operation Stay Safe, we are implementing an online parking reservation system. This means that whether you’re a season passholder coming for a few powder day laps or a family looking to enjoy a full day on the mountain, you will need to let us know you’re coming by booking a parking reservation in advance at snowbird.com/parking

Our goal has always been, and will continue to be, to provide our guests with a great and safe Snowbird experience. Implementing the parking reservation system as part of Operation Stay Safe will help us ensure the wellbeing of all through the careful management of the number of people at the resort at any given time. By managing the number of people on property, Snowbird guests can know that when they plan a trip to visit us, they are going to have a great experience – they will know they have a spot to park when they get here and plenty of room to spread out on the mountain.

All Snowbird parking lots, including the Bypass road. Due to limited terrain and lifts, we do not anticipate allowing parking along the side of SR-210 between Entry 1 and 4 during the early-season.

No. Guests may reserve a total of 14 days at any given time and more days on a rolling basis and as advance days become week of days. Our goal is to allow guests to ski and ride on the days they wish, and each guest can reserve up to 7 “Advance Days” and 7 “Week-Of Days” at a time. As advance days become week-of, guests can book additional advance days not exceeding a total of 7 advance day reservations at any given time.

Specific to Week-Of Days, the rolling 7-days are always available for booking. In other words, every day, a new day becomes available (the 8th day out) to book.

Who is Required to Make a Reservation

Anyone of driving age (16 or older) may make a parking reservation at Snowbird.

Our passes continue to offer the same great access to mountain adventure. The parking system requires you to plan ahead to let us know you are coming so that we can ensure everyone on property is able to stay safe and appropriately physically distance. We are focused on the wellbeing of all, and an important part of that is managing the number of people at the resort at any given time.

Our goal is to allow passholders to ski and ride on the days they wish. The parking system is one tool amidst the many measures we are taking to manage volume and enable appropriate physical distancing. Other actions include:

  • Adding lift queue spacing measures, including extended maze designs, more lateral spacing and increased signage
  • Shifting to more grab-and-go options in our dining venues
  • Refining our Mountain School offerings
  • Adding new touchless transaction technology throughout the resort

No. All guests of driving age (16 and older) are able and required to book parking reservations pre-arrival via snowbird.com/parking.

No. Guests staying at a Snowbird lodging property (The Cliff Lodge, The Cliff Club, The Lodge at Snowbird, The Inn and Iron Blosam) do not need a reservation. If you are staying in Little Cottonwood Canyon but not in one of the properties listed above, you will need a reservation to access the parking lot. For homeowners and guests staying on the Bypass road, ski access is permitted.

Seven Summits/Base Camp members will receive a parking permit on a hangtag for their vehicle. Parking reservations will not be required and preferred parking areas will remain the same as last year.

No. Individuals with a disabled plate or placard will not need a parking reservation to enter the parking lot. Our accessible parking spaces are first-come first-served and are available at the Snowbird Center, Creekside and hotels.

Preferred Parking passholders will receive (1) parking permit on a hangtag for their vehicle. The hangtag will be mailed to you before opening day, November 30. Parking reservations will not be required.

A limited number of passes were only offered to 2019-20 Preferred Parking passholders.

No. A limited number of passes were only offered to 2019-20 Preferred Parking passholders.

It’s important to note that the parking reservation system is an important tool for us to ensure the wellbeing of all and a safe, long ski season at Snowbird. As such, guests who arrive without reservations will not be permitted to park on premise. Reservations can be booked on the same day, if there is available inventory. We encourage guests to secure their spot before arriving at the resort.

Parking reservations are not required after 4 pm. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged at all of our restaurants.

A parking reservation is included when you advance book a treatment at The Cliff Spa. Your reservation will be emailed to you after booking the treatment. If you have any questions, please reach out at CliffSpa@snowbird.com.

Making a Reservation

Yes! So long as there is availability, booking can be made same day. We ask you to please reserve in advance of arrival to ensure a smooth experience upon entering the resort.

We encourage you to keep checking back. While all available parking inventory from opening day, November 30, through December 24 is available for booking now via snowbird.com/parking, only a portion of inventory for the remainder of the season is available for booking. Additional parking inventory will be released every Monday at Noon MST.

Additional inventory will open every Monday at Noon MST. All available parking inventory from opening day, November 30, through December 24 is available for booking now via snowbird.com/parking. In addition, a portion of inventory for the remainder of the season is available for booking. We are only releasing a portion of parking spot inventory for the remainder so that we may remain nimble and able to adjust as needed based on the pandemic, user patterns, open lifts/terrain and weather/conditions.

Parking reservations will be booked via a separate page (on our website at snowbird.com/parking). A link to the parking system is available from our snowbird.com product pages.

All parking reservations are for a full day. Using scan data from previous seasons, we have taken early departures, late arrivals and partial days into consideration.

Parking is free. We recommended making your reservations on snowbird.com/parking. However, you can book on the ParkWhiz app and payment information will be required. Your card will not be charged and you only have to enter this once.

To make a reservation, you must reserve with your name, email and license plate. Once you pick up your rental car, please plan to update your reservation with the rental car license information before arriving to the resort. Guests can update their reservation by opening your confirmation email.

We wanted to use a best in class parking reservation system to ensure the process of booking was as easy as possible. We are working with the vendor to add functionality to prevent more than 7 advance bookings. In the meantime, reservations are audited nightly and any reservations in excess of 7 will be cancelled. Repeat offenders risk losing the ability to make advance reservations.

Specific to Week-Of Days, the rolling 7-days are always available for booking. In other words, every day, a new day becomes available (the 8th day out) to book.

Yes, each guest of driving age (16 or older) is able to book up to 7 advance days throughout the season and an unlimited amount of days in the rolling 7-day window.

We allow a maximum of 7 advance reservation parking days for each guest. If you’re getting an error message trying to book reservations, it’s likely that you are already holding 7 advance days under your email. To manage and view your reservations, visit the My Account page on parkwhiz.com.

Cancelling a Reservation

If your plans have changed, we understand. Please let us know so that everyone has access to ski and ride this season. To avoid a no-show penalty, please cancel your reservation before the day of the arrival window begins at 7 am by cancelling through your email confirmation.

To ensure everyone has access to ski and ride this season, guests must cancel their parking reservations if plans change and you are unable to visit. If you aren’t feeling well or need to adjust plans for any reason, you can cancel up until the day of arrival window begins at 7 am on the day booked by cancelling through your email confirmation

To ensure everyone has access to ski and ride this season, it is important for guests to let us know if their plans have changed and they will not need the parking space. If you aren’t feeling well or need to adjust plans for any reason, we understand.  You can cancel up until the day of the arrival window begins at 7 am on the day booked by cancelling through your email confirmation. If you do not cancel by 7 am on the reserved date and you are a no-show, or you abuse the system, it could result in loss of days booked or future privilege to book advance dates.

If you need to return that same day (ex. go back home to pick up a child’s piece of critical equipment), please get a stamp from the Parking Gate Staff as you exit the parking lot. When you come back to Snowbird, show the stamp and your original parking reservation confirmation and you will be allowed to re-enter.
