Dave Fields Named Snowbird General Manager, COO
Snowbird, Utah – Snowbird announced today that Dave Fields has been named General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Utah resort. In his 17 years at Snowbird, Fields has held positions in public relations, marketing and, for the last seven years, operations.
“I’m very happy to have Dave stepping into this position and thank him for his leadership, hard work and many successful contributions to date. I look forward to a very bright future for Snowbird under his leadership,” said Bob Bonar, who will retain the position of President and CEO.
Fields was named Snowbird Vice President of Resort Operations in 2010 and has worked with all departments of the resort that employs more than 1,800 people in the winter and 1,100 in the summer.
“For someone who grew up skiing in Little Cottonwood Canyon to have this opportunity is the honor of a lifetime,” said Fields. “I get to work with amazing people in one of the most beautiful places in the world.”
Fields grew up skiing at Alta, where his father Chuck was a ski instructor who now teaches at Deer Valley. Fields’ family includes his wife Melissa and children Charlie and Meredith.
This past winter Snowbird achieved historic highs in guest satisfaction and continues an aggressive schedule of capital improvements include a comprehensive remodel of the Cliff Lodge. This past winter Snowbird received nearly 600 inches of snow.
