Snowbird helps partners provide the community with a place to recreate.

One of the reasons Snowbird is able to offer unique big-mountain experiences is because of our long-term partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Forest Foundation (NFF). The NFF was created with a simple mission: bring people together to restore and enhance our National Forests and Grasslands.

As stewards of our public lands, Snowbird knows the myriad benefits outdoor mountain adventure can generate. We also know the benefits of supporting organizations that help Snowbird provide adventure experiences while also protecting public lands from unprecedented challenges. At no other time in recent history has providing an outlet for safe and healthy mountain adventure been needed more than during the coronavirus pandemic.

Back in 2005 Snowbird was the first ski resort to partner with the NFF. Since the partnership began, we’ve donated nearly $1 million and continue to raise and provide funds to the organization, including a recent gift of over $50,000. Funds collected from guest stays are donated to the NFF, and then come back to the community on a local level in the form of NFF grants. Grants are awarded to the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation (CCF) – which provides trail maintenance, education, and noxious weed eradication – and support other conservation projects within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
