What’s the current weather at Snowbird?
You can get the above information and more by visiting our Mountain Report or by calling 801.933.2222 from Salt Lake City, or 801.742.2222 elsewhere, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This includes current temperatures, wind speed & direction, snow, cloud cover, visibility, Tram status, terrain status and trail grooming.

Can I fly my drone at Snowbird?
Aerial Drone use is prohibited for the public at Snowbird.

Can I bring my pet to Snowbird?
No pets are allowed in the canyon, in the lodges or kept in vehicles during your visit, except by special permit (canyon residents, rescue and service dogs). Little Cottonwood Canyon is part of the Salt Lake City Protected Watershed. For more information, visit www.keepitpure.com.

Are snowboarders allowed at Snowbird?
Skiers and snowboarders are both permitted to ski and ride at Snowbird.

Besides skiing and snowboarding, what other winter activities are available?
Snowbird offers a wide variety of winter activities for the whole family. In addition to skiing and riding, we offer great restaurants, shopping, scenic Tram rides, and the world-renowned Cliff Spa.

What is Snowbird's elevation?
Snowbird’s base elevation at the Snowbird Center is 8,100 feet. Snowbird’s highest point is at Hidden Peak where the Tram docks—a whopping 11,000 feet. View more mountain stats

Do I need 4-wheel drive or snow tires? 
By law, snow tires or chains are required on all vehicles entering the canyon from November 1st to May 1st. During heavy snowstorms, the canyon may be temporarily restricted to 4WD or chain-equipped vehicles only.

What other forms of transportation are there?
Utah Transport Authority (UTA) provides the Little Cottonwoods Canyons ski bus 994.
