Snowbird Opens Mineral Basin Ahead of the Holidays as Fast Tracks Kicks Off for the Season

Snowbird, Utah – Snowbird, known for its deep snow and steep terrain, opened a favored part of the mountain today: Mineral Basin. The resort has had a strong start to the 2023-24 winter season with 138” of snow so far—the second highest season-to-date total in the United States—allowing the Utah resort to open new terrain almost daily this week and offering access to Mineral Basin sooner than average.

This opening coincides with the kickoff of Fast Tracks—Snowbird’s daily upgrade that provides skiers and snowboarders with access to express lift lanes at all the mountain’s quad chairlifts. The product is on sale today and can be used starting tomorrow, December 15, for as low as $59.

“With Mother Nature providing great snow, our teams have been working extremely hard since we opened to get new terrain and lifts open,” said Snowbird President and General Manager Dave Fields. “Getting Mineral Basin open this year is a good indicator of the snow quality in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The teams will now turn their attention to Gad 2, which we expect to open soon as well.”

New this season, Fast Tracks can be easily and quickly added to any day ticket or season pass—a separate ticket is no longer needed. The add-on can be purchased at the Ticket Office or even from a phone via a Fast Flow process, which auto-populates guests’ information to check out when they scan the QR code on their ticket or pass. Daily quantities of Fast Tracks are extremely limited to maintain the experience for both product users and those who forgo it, making it an ideal product for those looking to make the most of their bucket-list Snowbird day.
