Snowbird x Woodward Collaboration Will Culminate With Woodward Peace Park Championships

Snowbird, Utah – Celebrating its 11th year, the Woodward Peace Park Championships—a unique terrain park competition designed to inspire and maximize creativity and progression—is coming to Snowbird for the first time, May 2–6.

Created by Olympian and X Games gold medalist Danny Davis, the Woodward Peace Park Championships will take place on a specially designed course off Baldy Express in Snowbird’s Mineral Basin, embracing light-hearted competition with unique, one-of-a-kind features. In contrast to traditional snowboard contests, daily athlete sessions during May 2-5 will be unstructured as both local and global athletes vie for the MTN Dew® Method Award, race in the banked snake run and compete for the coveted Peace Park Axe.

Among the 50-plus athletes competing are Olympic gold medalists Red Gerard, Ayumu Hirano and Sage Kotsenburg, Olympic and X Games gold medalist Anna Gasser and X Games gold medalists Zeb Powell, Elena Hight and Hailey Langland. Local talent, including Snowbird athlete Sam Taxwood, will also compete in the Woodward Peace Park Championship event.

“Peace Park at The Bird is something I can honestly say I have never even dreamed of,” said Woodward Peace Park creator Danny Davis. “The opportunity to build a Peace Park at Snowbird is amazing, and with the record-breaking snow year they are having, it is sure to be a legendary event.”

Spectators can enjoy brand activations, including activities and giveaways, from partners like Mountain Dew®, Subaru, Burton Snowboards and Woodward, on the Plaza Deck as well as at “The Beach,” an on-mountain viewing area. While the competitive aspect of Woodward Peace Park Championships culminates on May 5, Snowbird skiers and snowboarders can experience the championship course alongside the pros on May 6 at Peace Park for the People before enjoying live music and additional partner engagement at Snowbird’s spring music series, Plazapalooza.

“Snowbird’s challenging terrain has always made it a stomping ground for the best of the best, and hosting Woodward Peace Park Championships underscores our continued commitment to showcasing fresh, new ways for people to experience this amazing mountain,” said Snowbird President and General Manager Dave Fields. “We’re eager for our community to experience Snowbird in a new light through our collaboration with Woodward.”

Access to the Snowbird x Woodward Mountain Park and event spectator areas adjacent to the Peace Park Championships venue is free with a Snowbird lift ticket or season pass. Woodward Park City members can enjoy discounted Snowbird tickets for $69, while passholders from all Utah resorts, Ikon passholders and Epic passholders will be able to ski and snowboard at Snowbird for $89.

Daily event coverage will take place via Snowbird and Woodward Peace Park’s social channels and The Bomb Hole.
