Level up your day with the Scenic Tram. Glide to the Hidden Peak summit while you take in panoramic views of Little Cottonwood Canyon’s ridgeline, wildflower-filled or snow-covered slopes and the surrounding Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Snowbird’s legendary red and blue Aerial Tram cabins carry you along a 1.6-mile cable, climbing 2,900 vertical feet to the peak, at 11,000 feet.

At The Summit, grab a refreshment, snap a photo with the Salt Lake Valley, Twin Peaks and Mt. Baldy behind you and soak in the cool alpine air before your ride back down.

In the summer, take it up a notch. Elevate the experience, literally, with an open-air ride on top of the Tram with the Rooftop Balcony Add-On.

Note: The Scenic Tram will be closed until Winter.

A Summer Scenic Tram Ticket, All-Day Activity Pass or 2026-27 Summit, Freeloader or Alta-Bird Season Pass is required to purchase the Rooftop Balcony Add-On.

Scenic Tram Ride Tickets between November and May must be purchased in person at the Ticket Office. Scenic Tram Rides are condition-dependent and are not always available. Please call the Ticket Office at 801.933.2215 before arriving to check the status.

Rooftop Balcony Add-On: A Summer Scenic Tram Ticket, All-Day Activity Pass or 2026-27 Snowbird Season Pass is required to purchase the Rooftop Balcony Add-On. Guests must be 42" and taller.
Pricing is tax-exclusive.
Tickets for the Peruvian Chairlift and Summer Scenic Tram are interchangeable, allowing guests to ride up on one lift and down on the other. A 0.6-mile hike is required on an unpaved trail between the Tram and the top of Peruvian Chairlift.
All activities, lift openings, terrain access and hours of operation are conditions permitting and may change at any time.
Summit, Alta-Bird and Freeloader passholders may ride the Tram for free all summer. Flex-5 Passes, Ikon Passes, and the Mountain Collective Passes do not include Summer Scenic Tram benefits.
A one-time $5 ticketing fee will be added to the purchase of any new ticket or pass card. Whether from a winter day ticket/season pass or previous summer tickets, we highly encourage guests to save and reuse their passes each season by reloading them online. This helps reduce waste while saving you time and money. Lost tickets and passes will be charged a $5 printing fee.
Children 6 & under are free but still need a pass to access the Tram.

How to Redeem Your Summer Tickets

If you have an existing Bird Card from a Winter Lift Ticket, Season Pass or previous summer activities, your new Scenic Tram Pass can be automatically added to your card.

If you are a new passholder or need a new Bird Card, you can quickly redeem your All-Day Activity Pass or Scenic Ride at the Pick-Up Boxes, conveniently located throughout The Cliff Lodge, Creekside and the Snowbird Center. You can redeem your Bird Card in 2 easy steps:

Scan the QR code from your printed confirmation or phone.
Your Bird Card, loaded with your pass, will print and drop into the tray.

Pro tip: Keep your Bird Card for the next time you visit. Simply reload it online and head straight to the fun.

How to Redeem your Winter Tickets

Summer Tram & Rooftop Balcony Details

Guests must be 42" & taller to access the Tram rooftop balconies. There is no height restriction for riding in the Tram cabin.
The Tram rooftop balcony is standing-room-only; capacity is limited.
Come prepared with appropriate footwear—high-heeled shoes and pumps are not allowed on the Tram rooftop balconies.
Upon boarding the Tram rooftop balconies, passengers must remain there and will not be permitted to relocate down into the Tram cabin until the end of the ride.
The Tram and the Hidden Peak terminal are ADA-accessible. However, the Tram rooftop balconies are not.
Tram service may be canceled due to weather conditions or other circumstances. Rooftop balconies will not be available when raining. Mountain bikes are not permitted on the Tram. Check out the Summer Report for the most up-to-date information.
Note: You can load your All-Day Activity Pass and Summer Scenic Tram Pass onto an existing Bird Card. If you load your pass onto an existing card, you can head straight to the Tram.
