The Snowbird Commute

Big city, bigger mountains.

The daily drive from the Salt Lake Valley to Snowbird is short in distance but transports you a world away. This contrast offers big city perks—such as a wide variety of living options, restaurants, entertainment, shopping and more—paired with a mountain environment. Snowbird is conveniently located 25 miles from downtown and 7 miles from the entrance of Little Cottonwood Canyon making it the most accessible ski resort in Salt Lake City.

Snowbird is located near the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, which is often impacted by snow during the winter months. Employees should be prepared to drive in snowy conditions or take advantage of Snowbird’s employee rideshare program. More information can be found on our driving requirements page.

Snowbird has very limited employee housing available at the resort. These accommodations are held for positions that provide operational continuity and emergency and critical maintenance rapid response.
