- Due to the unique quality of our resort location, there are times when the road up Little Cottonwood Canyon (SR-210) and/or lift access is delayed due to avalanche danger. In these cases, we monitor the situation closely and send programs out as soon as there is staff available and conditions warrant. Circumstances change with each situation and therefore it is important for guests to communicate with our staff. If lessons are missed due to these extreme circumstances, we will make every effort to accommodate our guests.

Weather Guidelines
We prioritize your safety and enjoyment. While we strive to provide an unforgettable experience, certain weather conditions, such as heavy snow, high winds, or low visibility, can prevent us from flying safely. If your Single Day trip or Multi-Day package is impacted by weather conditions, we offer the following:
Alternative Experience: Powderbird will provide an alternative experience at Snowbird Resort at the cost of the Single Day Deposit, or a small portion of the Multi Day Package, as applicable. Powderbird Guided Day at Snowbird Ski Resort includes:
- VIP Tram & lift line access, guide half day, guest pass all day
- Buffet-style breakfast & lunch served in our heliport lounge
- Ski-in/ski-out access to our heliport all day featuring secure gear storage
- Designated parking at our heliport
- Same timeline as fly day, guides return to heliport around 1 pm for lunch
Opt-Out of Alternative Experience: If a guest chooses to opt out of the alternative experience, their Deposit will be kept on account for one (1) calendar year from the original booking date to be used for a future reservation. If the Deposit is not used within 1 calendar year, it is forfeited.
Multi-day Package:
In addition to the Alternative Experience listed above, Multi-Day Package guests will receive the following reimbursement for each day that heli-skiing is not provided:

Weight Limit Policy
The safety of our guests is our top priority. The weight and balance of the aircraft is crucial to a safe helicopter skiing operation. To ensure compliance with flight safety regulations, we have established a weight limit policy. Please review the following guidelines before booking your flight:
- At the time of booking, each guest must accurately disclose their weight while dressed in street clothes. Upon arrival, guests are weighed in their ski gear to confirm total weight. If a guest’s weight exceeds the helicopter’s capacity, adjustments may be necessary.
- Guests who weigh 240 pounds or more may be subject to purchasing a second seat at the time of booking, which will be left empty for distribution purposes.
- If a guest misrepresents their weight, they may be subject to the following:
- Not being able to fly with your group
- Denied participation without a refund
Fly-In Policy (Return to Powderbird)
We reserve the right to remove a guest from the trip at any time and fly them back to the Powderbird heliport for any of the following reasons:
- Guest poses a risk to themselves or others
- Guest is negatively impacting other guest’s experience
- Guest is unable to keep up with the pace of the group
- Guest is injured
If a guest is flown back to the Powderbird heliport, they are responsible for the full cost of the day.
