Chickadee Lift Replacement

A new lift for new skiers.

Status: Completed 2026

Since 1972, Chickadee has been Snowbird's beginner chairlift. It's taken kids and adults learning to ski to the top of Chickadee run and Chickadee Chutes for generations. It's truly been where those "born at The Bird" first got their wings. This summer, the Chickadee Lift is getting replaced and upgraded. Beginning April 6, 2026, construction will begin to transform the Chickadee lift into a fixed-grip quad with a slow loading conveyor.

The new and fully grown-up version of the Chickadee chair will continue to create the next generation of powder chasers, future Olympians and local legends, just with a bit more room to squeeze in your whole fam.
